Laurie DeMartino and I designed these cafeteria cups for Target in 1999 when I worked at her studio. The brief called for a fun and lively design to have at all the cafeterias in the country for sodas and coffee. I was exploring with a whimsical and somewhat messy line-art illustration style that Laurie liked for the project and we ended up using. The client loved the exact design we presented. This was my first job in the US, so it was pretty cool to see these cups all over the country.
